Codes, drawings, safety, gas and combustion principles, electrical controls, piping, venting, burners, flame safeguards, planning and installation.
Advanced commissioning, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, instrumentation, communication and networking.

- Level 1 in-school: 75% theory and 25% practical; final result 80% in-school and 20% standardized exam.
- Level 2 in-school: 70% theory and 30% practical.
- At least 70% in school is required before the Red Seal exam; Red Seal passing mark is 70%.

- Eligible Class B credential plus at least 4,500 documented related hours.
- Pass the Red Seal examination.
- Separate Technical Safety BC licensing requirements still apply.

- A Technical Safety BC Class A certificate or equivalent Canadian Class A credential may provide experience credit, up to the 4,500-hour maximum.

- To obtain the Technical Safety BC Class A licence, the individual must hold the SkilledTradesBC Class A credential, complete required hours and pass the Technical Safety BC exam with at least 70%.
