  • Grade 10 English, mathematics and science recommended; Grade 12 preferred.
02Technical-training levelsWhat is generally covered at each stage of training.
Level 1

Safety, tools, routine service, lubrication/cooling, bearings, tires/wheels, brakes, final drives, batteries and basic electrical diagnosis.

Level 2

Frames, steering, suspension, engines, cooling/lubrication, clutches, starting, CVTs, electrical diagnosis, carburetion and exhaust.

Level 3

Advanced chassis, engines, transmissions, shaft drive, ignition, wiring, fuel delivery and complex diagnosis.

Level 4

Advanced engine and brake-control diagnosis, electronic vehicle management, sensors, actuators, software, fuel injection, electric motorcycles and mentoring.

  • Levels 1–3 have standardized written exams.
  • Level 4 is followed by the Red Seal exam.
  • Minimum 70% at each level and on the Red Seal exam.
